There used to be the 1.0 and the earlier beta versions. What do you all mean? How do you find the differences from the beta version to 1.16.1 now? I think a lot has happened up to here and Mojang has really put a lot of effort into it! (remember where there were no witches and such and now there are many new things) Of course I'm looking forward to many nice answers to you!

Of course, there were tons of differences. I like to think back to Beta 1.7.3 when I started playing Minecraft. Pistons were just introduced, I still remember how I built totally useless machines, but I still had a lot of fun. Things that didn't exist then:
-you couldn't sprint
-there was no hunger bar, food simply created life directly
-there were no villages
-there was no end (therefore no enderman and dungeons)
-there was no creative mode
-there were no comparators, droppers or observer
-there were no elytra
-there were no glass panes or iron bars
-there was no adventure or spectator mode
-there were no stone bricks
-there was no enchanting (also no exp)
And many more things, these are the things I still remember
All in all, find the updates very successful, and if you don't like them, you don't have to update to the new version, Minecraft is my favorite game

So far I think the updates are all great, even if the 1.14 / 15/16 are really borderline.
By that I mean the best thing about Minecraft is that you have to be creative yourself, so an example:
You can do it yourself with decorative tricks, e.g. Building a great sound system with music pads, however, requires a lot of creativity.
If Minecraft now introduced sound system blocks that could be used to build an entire system with one click, they would change the game in such a way that creativity is no longer necessary and thus take away the very best from him.
That's why I play without mods, if I want to build in-game cars then I don't download mods but use messengers and pack ice!
My opinion:
Ubdates that improve the gameplay or performance are great! 👍 But you should use other things sparingly so that the player has to invent them first
