Build Minecraft bedwars upwards?

I haven't played Minecraft for a long time now, but if we don't have to go to school because of Corona, I would like to start again.

I prefer to play bedwars, although sometimes you have to build yourself up quickly. Gradewegs. Somehow that is not possible with me. I have both tried to jump on my car and tried it with my car. It does not work. Besides the space bar (jump) and right click (build), do I have to do something else at the same time?
