I want to play with shaders
Did you install Optifine and also a shader? This is both important, otherwise it will not work
Did you install optifine? If not download it and also a shader, you could also download the badlion client and select optifine there. And then you have to add a shader in the shaderpacks folder via% appdata%
The preview version of optifine doesn't have shaders

Still waiting on an answer for this. Before my 2070 was delivered I'd successfully gotten seus's shader to load, but the gpu I was using at the time didn't support RTX. Now that my 2070 is actually here, I cannot for the life of me get the shader to load. It shows up in the shader list as a .zip file, but that specific shader just gets highlighted when I click it. The only other option that isnt greyed out other than the 'shader folder', 'done', and 'cancel' is the 'anti aliasing' option which still doesnt get me anywhere.

why is the shaders button greyed out?
I'm having the same issue 1.17 optifine released 3 and the new version still greyed out
If you look at the changelog, shaders are not working for the latest versions of Optifine, as of time of writing.
I think we should wait for the official Optifine release.
