Hold down the Shift key and then click on the item, then it will be moved…
It is even faster with mouse tweaks (mod) … Then you can simply drag over a row with shift and mouse button and all will be moved that you have passed…

You have to Shift-click on the item. I.e. Hold down the Shift key and then left-click.
Pro tip: You don't even have to open your inventory to put on armor. With the armor in your hand you can simply Shift + right click on it. Then you put them on.
