Today i have a macbook pro 13, 2019, 8gb ram, 128gb ssd

bought and play Minecraft now. But I quickly noticed that the keyboard is getting very hot.

could it break something or is that okay?

I've already googled and people are split into two with yes and no.

what do you say about my model?

fa

That depends on the graphics card that is installed in it, since a macbook is not designed for gaming, it can warm up, you should make sure that it doesn't get too hot, there's a program like msi afterburner that shows the temperature. As long as you don't overdo it and take breaks more often, you will achieve a long life for the built-in components

ju

Yes with Ultrabooks it is normal that they get very hot

ha

This is normal and fine.

One advantage of the aluminum housing is its high thermal conductivity - waste heat is not only actively dissipated via the fans, but also passively via the housing. As you have probably already noticed yourself, the fans of the 13 "MacBook Pro can remain completely switched off even most of the time, with low power requirements.

So it is perfectly normal for the case to heat up - especially in the area between the display and keyboard.

Of course, the device is designed and tested so that the built-in components can also be operated at full load over a longer period of time. In addition, it is equipped with various temperature sensors, so that if the temperature is too high it would initially throttle the components - and switch them off completely if necessary.

So then should Minecraft play be all right? I've now jacked up the MacBook.

that is, he hardly ever arrives anywhere.

ha

Yes, of course that's ok.

You don't need to jack it up - a flat surface is sufficient. Bad would be e.g. Soft pillows or blankets that block airflow.

If the noise doesn't bother you, you can also manually increase the fan speed while playing, e.g. With https://www.crystalidea.com/de/macs-fan-control to lower the temperatures. The automatic fan control of your MacBook regulates the speed rather cautiously with regard to the volume and accepts higher temperatures.

What is that surprising you?

Macs are not made for gaming.

All calculations have to be done by the cPU and the Intel GPU is a cucumber.

ha

I would not call the integrated Intel GPUs as "cucumbers" for a long time - at least the higher expansion levels (Iris) …
