Minecraft with friends playing mobile data (Android)?

Moin, can I play Minecraft with my friends if I activate mobile data? Because I can use mobile data e.g. B go to The Hive but I can't find my friends when they're online. Can someone help me there?

Mincraft does not connect to the servers via mobile data. A Wi-Fi connection is required. Which is ridiculous. If you open a Wi-Fi hotspot with a second cell phone, Mincraft recognizes that it has Wi-Fi and goes online.
