Me and my girlfriend want to play minecraft together but don't know how. So I've heard of this hamachi page, but I can't really find my way around the page.
Make yourself a free server on Aternos. However, it does not run continuously, but only when you and your friends want to play on it. For most people, it's easier than dealing with server programs.
If you are in a network (i.e. Using the same Wi-Fi / Lan in the same house) one of you can simply go to a single player world and click on "Open in Lan". The other player can then join the world. For this he has to go to multiplayer and then after a few seconds the world name should appear at the bottom.
