So where can you find the Elytres in the inventory, under which category, because I can't find them, ps play version 1.8.9

In the 1.8.9 there are still no Elytres, they came with the 1.9, the Ender Update

Promotion they're in the creative inventory, but I don't know what version they were brought into play.

They are only available in version 1.9 or higher. You are in the transport category of creative inventory.
