What do you think of Minecraft RTX?

Ca

You don't need it, especially if you only buy an RTX card for it. MMn waste of money.

Da

It's nice, but in some situations it's just too bright. Prefer a normal shader

Un

Quite good for Win10, since there are no "free" shaders, only those that you have to buy. But there are shaders in Java, so you don't need that

Dr

Well…

I've watched a few videos and so far it only looks really good in certain situations.

It's quite nice but I won't get an rtx card for the price just to activate this feature in a handful of games (most of them I don't even play…).

Rtx itself is quite nice but so far it is definitely nothing that drives me to get an rtx card

Vi

Well, it's a good feature. However, only supported on the Windwos 10 Edition. So all Java Edition players, which are much more than Windows 10 players, can't use the whole thing and I think most of them will not buy Windwos 10 Edition either. I'm a PVP player on GommeHD.net and so and I personally do not need it. I also have an RX 5700 XT and no RTX graphics card and therefore I won't buy one.

Fr

Will change in the near future. The Next Gen consoles will support RayTracing and the AMD graphics cards from RDNA2 as well. RayTracing has come to stay.

Fr

This year's AMD graphics card is supposed to actively support RayTracing.

Ul

RayTracing has been around since 1963 and Nvidia is now pulling the drum. Maybe you shouldn't associate everything Nvidia says with the future

Fr

Then try using technology from 1963 to get RayTracing in high FPS and resolution. I'm curious.

Ul

Haha as if that's a novelty at Nvidia. Just a question of how to control the graphics card. I bet with you that older graphics cards can also do well!

You fell for the advertising.

Ul

Can older AMD graphics cards do a few tricks too, is just a stupid algorithm. Nvidia likes to pull up the drum and make unspectacular appear spectacular.

And after a Google search I even found out that GTX graphics cards can hold the ball flat.

Fr

Naturally. The GTX1080ti also creates RTX. Only 30FPS at 720P and every RTX2060 is better than the one in it, but hey…

Ul

This is now very generalized. If you do it manually and program it yourself, you get a little more out of it. It also depends on how incompetent or competent you are driving the card.

And maybe you shouldn't forget the fact that Nvidia itself has expanded ray tracing support to "try", so to "try" so that you buy the new product and the implementation will probably not be the best, but neither can you say because closed source

Nvidia is also just a business enterprise and this aspect shouldn't be forgotten…

Fr

RayTracing runs better on RTX cards than on GTX cards because they have tensor cores and GTX cards don't. There's no conspiracy of a business enterprise behind it. Otherwise, AMD's 5700 graphics cards would also be able to play RayTracing, but oh wait. You can't. Only the next generation.

Vi

It would be cool.

Fr

Not "would be" cool, but "will"! AMD has already confirmed that the RDNA2 graphics card will focus on ray tracing. The Next Gen consoles are also based on RDNA2 and can also do RayTracing.

Vi

It "gets" really cool. NVIDIA finally gets some competition
