So we want to play together in school during the breaks, but there we do not have Wi-Fi.

Online = One has (in most cases) a router capable of networking, accessing other networks / servers and exchanging data packets.
Offline = The opposite from above

Other suggestion:
If you have 2 laptops or 2 computers and sit side by side then you can connect through the network and play offline together, but not against others.
If you only see each other at school, use that time - especially the breaks - and spend them together instead of sinking your heads into phones while sitting next to each other…
