Optifine is not installed as a java file?

I was about to download optifine for minecraft when I noticed that somehow it is as a write file and not as a "java file". I have java on the pc but somehow I can't open it with it, what could be the reason?

Rename and add .jar may work

According to Tooltip, that's it. Probably only the extensions are hidden.

A friend of mine had that too. You have to change the storage path but I don't know how to do it. Check out a yt toutorial about it na.

I would also recommend using a client like Lunar or Badlion because Optifine is included and you have more features
