Which Minecraft Edition is better
It depends on what exactly you want to play.
Java is now less optimized and lags on good PCs (no matter how good your PC is). Older versions are still great. On servers you can also play on older versions, some servers are still alive. You can also change mods and texture packs in Java without limits.
But I would recommend Bedrock if you don't care about mods and you want to play Vanilla. It is very well optimized and actually lag free. It's also more sophisticated than Java and really more sophisticated. But multiplayer in its early days, I wouldn't recommend it to you.
You have to decide for yourself what type of Minecraft player you are. Multiplayer, mods and texturepacks then Java. For single players without mods and texture packs (unless you buy them) and really clean vanilla then Bedrock.
Hope I could help
Never had a PC and always wanted the Playstation Edition to be 1 to 1 like the Java Edition. I don't like the development of the game at all. Of course there are some great things like the Nether Update or the Cross Play feature, but what good do these things do for me if the game on the Ps4 doesn't work at all. Sometimes you can't even start the game, you are almost pushed to connect an Xbox Acc, but that doesn't work because it has been bugged for half a year. In addition, there are still no servers on the Playstation 4, but there are on the Xbox. For all these problems there hasn't been a single patch for over half a year and that just breaks the game.
Free mods
Free resource packs
DEBUG menu
Much more options for server owners
Much more mature servers to my knowledge
Specator mode
Hardcore fashion
Less fatal bugs
I don't like the Bedrock version, it just doesn't feel right.
None of it.
Don't believe in Minecraft at all.
You can save yourself comments with "Minecraft is great".
Thank you Sony
I actively play 1.7.10, 1.8.9, 1.12.2, 1.13.2, 1.16.4, nothing is lagging there.
Huge modpacks with over 250 mods, all without Optifine, completely lag-free. You have to show me where something is getting worse and worse.
Big laggs with TNT
Sony can't help that Microsoft neglects the Playstation. The Xbox has had servers for months, but the Playstation hasn't. The game is getting worse and worse on all platforms, except on Xbox, because nothing changes for the worse. Soon you will even have to do an Xbox Acc on your PC if you want to play Java Edition.
Bedrock and PE are the same…
It's also more sophisticated than Java and really more sophisticated
If you notice… There's no WorldBorder… No NBT support in Commands… No F3 Debug menu… Not one of the F3 combinations…
Why do I think it's bad that there are no WorldBorders?
With java the map is 60,000,000 x 60,000,000 and no matter how far you run, it runs normally.
If I try to get to coordinate 30,000,000 at Bedrock, I'll fall ahead of the game!
Bedrock still doesn't even have hardcore fashion!
Although that would be extremely easy to implement…
There are many more missing features or bugs that I think should exist at all
Only for pc and mobile
* shouldn't exist at all
But when do you normally set fire to 100+ TNT blocks?
Yes performance… That was it. But that only cares about people who often work with TNT, which I have NEVER seen before.
It is always on the PC, but the performance is really not that bad, you already have a very weak PC.
