A few hours ago I purchased through the main page of Minecraft.net Minecraft. Now I have noticed that I mistakenly downloaded the wrong version (Minecraft Java), but since I want to play cross-platform with colleagues, I probably needed the Windows 10 version. Can one turn to the support there or is there still another solution? I paid via PayPal.
Normally you get both the java version and a key for the microsoft store, so you can download the badrock version.
The windows 10 version? Windows 10 can also java, I'm sure. Minecraft is programmed with java. If an error message now comes, then on your Windows 10 just no java installed. That you get under http://www.java.com/...e/download
The key is no longer free.
There are different versions, the old original Java Edition, which of course also runs on Windows 10 and the new Windows 10 Edition, which you get in the Windows 10 Store. These two versions are not compatible. The Windows 10 Store Edition is cross-platform. The Java Edition is not that.
The support can't help you either. Your money will not be returned.
The Windows 10 version but you get already for less than 1 euro

So I have neither Windows 10, but minecraft but. The big advantage of java is just that it is platform-independent o.O but I can't imagine anything platform-dependent than games from nem windows store.
What you imagine does not matter. In this case, cross-platform means that you can play together with console players.
That was (believe) only when the Win10 Edition was in beta.
Aah and the privilege has only got the version from the windows store, so all minecraft (again) buy. Now it is n shuh draus sorry I just do not think economically enough
In fact, there was the last 3 or 4 years completely free for all those who have bought the Java version. Economical looks different.
Yes, but you had to buy the java version first, instead of getting them for free like every normal human 4 years ago or so. Was not exactly a secret, that you were thrown on the internet, so to speak
The Java version was available at alpha times for free as they did not lock the Paypal account. Then it cost again normal 5 euro, the beta 10 euro and the full version just 20 euro. There are not many who got them for free. By the way, that's already 8, almost 9 years ago.
Too bad that we have no statistics on it ^^ I certainly do not know anyone who has seriously bought. And honestly, that's not all part of the topic anymore, so let's just leave that at that
Over 150 million players will probably have bought some. Your friends are not really relevant there.
