Who was with Minecraft when there was no Nether?

I mean this version, when you had to build such an altar and then spawned a small Netherraum, where then zombies are gespwant.

I remember the Halloween update that brought the Nether. No idea what you're talking about.

That was a Pocket Edition Exclusive. You probably mean the Nether Reactor Core, but that's not really in the game since the real Nether came in 2015 (?). I'm not sure when exactly that was.
