Why can't I get the stove up and running in minecraft 😤 (see photo)?

Below is wood charcoal above spruce wood boards but nothing happens! Damn I'm going to spin through it I'm sitting there for an hour to do it!

There must be raw wood in the top

Where can I get that?

I don't think you can burn spruce boards

Very simple, you can't roast spruce wooden boards. I guess you want to have charcoal, then you have to cut down the wood that you are mining and not the one that has already been used up.
