Which graphics card is the best for a dual core 3.4GHz?

I have an old PC,

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, E7400, @ 2.8GHz, overclocked to 3.4GHz

Memory: 8GB DDR2 ram (4x2GB)

Other: Asus, Windows 7, 32 bit

with a Geforce GT220 1GB graphics card.

The PC is from 2010 and I know that it is not worth it to upgrade but

but since I only like older PC games anyway and some of them jerk or only play on the lowest request are such. Minecraft, Diablo 3 or Assasins Creed 4 I would like to do it anyway and think that a better graphics card is doing its part because the GT220 is still very low in performance even for such an old PC.

Therefore, I ask myself which graphics card for my PC is the best without the hardware brakes each other out?

Or should I rather invest in more memory?

Ask for advice because Google does not provide an accurate answer.

Theoretically, you could also buy a slightly better graphics card, and later upgrade the rest, then you would have a reasonably current PC again.

Otherwise, I would just take a look what's needed in the area. You can indeed a website such. Userbenchmark.com to compare.

My old PC had a R9 270X, Minecraft ran on it, but with Assasin's Creed 3 it got tight again, but I also have a WQHD screen. On FullHD it would probably have gone okay. Unfortunately, I can't judge Diablo at all how much power it takes.

As I said, just once. Look at classifieds on eBay.

R9 270X, GTX 950 or 960, this is probably one or the other game.

A better graphics card is rarely wrong, even if your processor is at the bottom of the food chain.

Used there are all sorts of things, because you can recommend something bad. Since we would have to know the size of the case, the type of power supply, etc.

New would be a reason purchase a GT 1030 for about € 75 plus shipping; It is pretty much the same design philosophy as your current one, you will not be in trouble for higher power consumption, and the performance increase is quite considerable.

But make sure that it has GDDR5 type RAM (see link below); There's also a pretty nasty package of Nvidia with GDDR4.

Addendum:

A good option for the second hand purchase would be a GTX 750Ti. Again, no trouble with the stream, and despite the number already equipped with a chip of the 900 generation.

Complement:

In addition, the GTX 750ti oc (2GB) is slightly faster than a GT 1030.

Used are they for relatively small money to have:

If possible, take a model with 2 fans (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte,.

This Graka generation no longer has a VGA output. If in doubt, you need an adapter from DVI, or HDMI to VGA (new: 10-15 euro)

The 8 GB of RAM is enough for you, because limits everything else before.
What do you want to spend for the graphics card? I can recommend you from 50 - 300 euro. A RX 570 8GB is very good value for money.

Cheaper would be a used GTX 770 or GTX 750Ti. However, the used purchase of such old maps is tricky, I advise you.

I think it will be the gtx 750ti, priced it fits and has a good performance, my power supply will not be overwhelmed with the synonymous, thanks for the answer
