Before I get started, the technical data of my computer: Mainboard: Asrock B450pro, CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g (4GHz), GPU: Amd RX 5700xt, Ram: Gskill Aegis (16gb, 2400 MHz).
Now to the real problem: I got the graphics card at Christmas, before that I played with the integrated graphics unit of the processor. When I started Minecraft without shaders / mods, it ran at a maximum of 30 fps. I was surprised because the graphics card is the best that Amd offers, it is at the level of an RTX2070 / 2060 Super. Every other game runs great on the graphics card. Maybe it's the Ram? This only clocks at 2400 MHz because the 2,000 series from AMD no longer allows (probably a bug). Should I get a new processor? Or should I change anything in the settings? Does Minecraft not recognize the graphics card? I have no idea.
Have a look at the Task Manager or see the processor load…
I would bet on a Ryzen 5 the utilization is not over 30-40% …
Check out the Minecraft settings to see if the fps are limited…
Unfortunately I can't tell you exactly what it is, I can only give you a few tips that you can try.
Switch off the integrated GPU in the BIOS
Check whether the latest graphics drivers are installed
Allocate more RAM to Minecraft (Java)
And it's not the main memory either… It's fast enough for MC
Nope no fps limited.
Then I would look in the Device Manager to see if the graphics card is selected and not the integrated graphics unit…
Everything done doesn't help.
I have now found out that it is because Minecraft uses the integrated graphics unit, although the graphics card is selected in the device manager.
Did you also play Minecraft with the integrated one and did you achieve more FPS?
Yes, I have achieved more fps…
Do you have Vsync?
Although it can't really be because of it, it's worth a try
Even the Ryzen 5 2400g should reach more than 30 FPS in Minecraft. Something is probably wrong with the settings. Just try something out.
