Minecraft raid?

Me and my friends are doing a raid for the third time, the first time it worked well and the magician dropped a totem, now the second and third always show that there's one left but we looked everywhere and we just can't find him, Can someone help me on this?

Sometimes things go bad and he spawns in some cave.

An iron golem could help find it. He also tries to kill the attacker. If he can't get hold of it, he stops and looks in the direction.
