Hi, I wanted to download Forge as normal, version 1.8, it is downloaded, I click on install, it says, Successfully installed to Launcher "Uuund: Only my old Forge version (1.12) is in the launcher. No, there's no 1.8 Version- There's no forge.
Not even if you click on "new profile" or something like that? I don't know exactly how that means, but there's no list where you can create a new profile and all versions are listed. Isn't it there either?
I have now noticed that you have installed Forge, but it is not included in your installed versions.
Try to go to Installations above and then to New and look for the 1.8 Forge version

Unfortunately I'm really not sure, but I'm currently playing a modpack that I have put together myself. There Forge is also in the Mods folder. Are you sure it doesn't have to go in there?
Well, it worked the same way with 1.12. It's just an installer. Modpacks are also a lot different than normal Forge, I think. You just have to run it and then it says, Install "And that then adds it to the launcher as a version - normally.
Hm, okay then unfortunately I can't help you either. I would think just put it in the mods folder - but I think it really won't do anything. I don't think you have to put anything in the folder with Labymod and Optifine. : /
