When I download and open the Forge installer, I don't install Forge, just a file opens in Wordpad with some strange characters. I installed the java runtime kit. Can somebody help me?
Take a look on Youtube at how to build something
Just right click on the installer and click on "open with" then you click on Java then the instalation should start without any problems.

Here I downloaded that. But was it a long time ago should I download a newer version?

I have now downloaded Java again, but it still does not show Java when it is opened with
Can you click on "other program" or something and then specify Java or navigate directly to the Java folder and then select the Java program.

When I click on another program and open the Java folder there are three folders inside, one jre folder and two jdk folders
Is that the right Java folder?
