Minecraft Java Edition vs Bedrock Edition?

What is the difference between the two editions and which one would you recommend?

This video is specified on Redstone, but I fully support it. For me, Redstone is THE feature par excellence in Minecraft, which is why I can definitely recommend the Java version, but not the Bedrock version.

Ma

Java Edition

programmed in Java
Performance rather bad
no crossplay with PS4, XBox, Switch
free selection of skins, texture packs, mods
Large selection of servers

Bedrock Edition

programmed in C #
better performance
RayTracing
CrossPlay with PS4, XBox, Switch
Skins, Maps, TexturePacks only for real money
limited number of servers

Java:

Classic Minecraft, modifiable, resource and data packages, any skins, shaders, the largest multiplayer server, only runs on the PC.

Bedrock:

Written in C ++, skins and resource packages cost something, modifications possible but a lot more complicated, no large servers, but runs on mobile phones, XBox, PS4 and Windows 10 (you can play Java on Windows 10, of course) → Crossplay.

I would recommend the Java Edition.

What is the difference between the two editions and which one would you recommend?

The Bedrock version is a cheap imitation of the Java edition created for mobile devices, where the player, in contrast to Java, has less freedom (e.g. No forge).

Je

Performance rather bad

Congratulation! You forgot Optifine.

Ma

My answer was about vanilla. Of course you can get a decent performance boost with Optifine

Je

Yes, that's true, but you should have labeled it better.

Hu

Java Edition:

More mods

More commands

2 more game modes (Spectator and Hardcore)

Shader

no crossplay

access to all servers

access to JAVA Realms

Bedrock:

Restricted Mids and Texture Packs (Marketplace)

Mash ups

crossplay with all other consoles, mobile phones and windows 10

Access now to specific servers and java-Bedrock cross servers

no shaders

no Spactator fashion and hardcore

fewer commands

access to Bedrock realms

Hu

Bedrock is not a cheap imitation of Java! It's a completely standalone version that will eventually align with java

Hu

I think both versions are absolutely cool

Je

The joke was good, the Bedrock and Java are programmed differently, which is why Bedrock, among other things, does not have any sensible third-party applications.
