I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that I got used a little over 4 years ago. The part actually serves its purpose, I can use it to listen to music, use WhatsApp, play games, etc.
However, as I said, the part is a bit older and therefore has a few disadvantages. It's relatively low on memory, the graphics aren't the best, and it's a little slow at times. I like to play Minecraft, but with my mobile phone I can set a maximum view range of 6 chunks and it often lags, even without mods.
My sister has a Samsung Galaxy A51. She also had an S5 until autumn, but she broke that. She says the best thing to do is get an A51 because it has a huge memory, better graphics and all sorts of bells and whistles. Minecraft also runs great with her and has a huge range of vision, max. 20 chunks or so.
I honestly think your phone is pretty cool, but mine works on its own. I'll be 18 in August and don't know whether I might want an A51 and keep my old one as an emergency / replacement cell phone, or whether I should buy an A51 myself… (I deliver newspapers and earn a little something with it ).
My sister got hers for her birthday, but the old one was broken too. Mine isn't broken, so I don't know if I should want / buy it.
The Galaxy A51 will be a noticeable upgrade (apart from the lack of water resistance). However, keep in mind that this is a really big smartphone and the size difference to the S5 will be a big one. That is not to be underestimated.
So I use mine until it completely gives up… And it's not like I play Minecraft for several hours a day… Later when the time comes.
If the needs are there, then it would be an option to buy a new device.
Unless you're stuck on Samsung, it might be an option to take a look at Xiaomi and, if necessary, keep an eye on the Poco X3 NFC or Mi 10T Lite.
Again a good deal more powerful and equivalent / cheaper than the Samsung. 🤓
