I'm currently playing FTB beyond. And I assigned 5GB ram to the modpack. Also runs on 120FPS so far so well.
The only problem I have is that I use at least 75% RAM. And this increases to 95% every second without a break, there then comes a 2sec complete frezze then the RAM utilization goes to EXACT 75 percent and everything starts from the beginning.
I've already tried:
Reinstall
Optifine (but then can't be installed)
Start anew
Reinstall Java
But it didn't bring anything.
My PC: amd fx 6300, kfa2 gt1030, 8GB no-name Ram.
If you assigned 5 GB of RAM to the modpack, why are you wondering about the utilization given 8 GB of total RAM? It makes sense if you allocate so much RAM to the pack that it can then use it completely and the utilization skyrockets.
Either turn off the juice from the modpack or upgrade RAM to 16 GB.
But only in this pack. It is not different everywhere. Even if I don't assign 6.5GB to others to play.
Try to assign 6GB of RAM. This is a "rounder" number for the computer.
Some packs just need more / less power.
Your PC is not necessarily the best now, so it could be because of that 🤷♂️
Other packs with 600+ mods where pretty much the same is just inside. But also runs at 40-60FPS.
So I've never seen a modpack with 600 mods…
But the ModANZAHL does not necessarily have to do with the required service.
It depends on what kind of mods it is.
I also played modpacks with 300 mods with my old PC (CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965, 8GB RAM, 2GB vram graphics card)
Everything you want. From enderio to thermal expansion to tinkers then on to flans mod. Lots of things.
