I wanted to rent a Minecraft server but don't know where. I have already picked out a few sites e.g. Nitrado, Unlimited Host, Server.pro etc. But when I read through the reviews, I didn't like any of them. I would also like to play only with 1-2 friends that means 4 slots would be sufficient the server should run smoothly and have no problems it should not cost more than 6 euro per month. What would also be a good extra but is not a must if you could install 1-3 mods there without it lying. That's why I wanted to ask which server host you can recommend to me that meets the requirements
"Could install 1-3 mods without it lying" - I think you should define the mods more precisely. Also: do you mean mods or plugins?
I would like to be able to install 1-3 small to medium-sized mods such as Origin and no mods such as Applied Energistics 2 that would be enough for me
I host myself, because the Nitradoserver has always tagged me at peak times in the evening despite 2GB and relatively few mods. Almost not during the day. So it wasn't due to the RAM or the mods, but to the general load, I would say…
I came across this list. This probably lists the best performing servers that you can rent for reasonable money. But I haven't had any experience with them, because I'm hosting myself now…
So on Aternos it works pretty well with 4 people and 20 mods. It's even free.
I've always used Aternos myself, but personally it's too lagging to have a smooth gaming experience.

I host there myself and am very satisfied.
You can buy a GameServer and install mods / plugins via an FTP program (in the folder)
the best thing to do is look at YT, but MC-HOST24 is a good server provider.
Personally, I've always had very good experiences with Nitrado.
