Why is minecraft multiplayer dangerous?

I want to get a PC and play Minecraft with mods with a buddy on the PC and I watched youtube videos how to create a Minecraft multiplayer server, then videos were suggested to me and then I watched but somehow you had to rent the server or so and it was said that it is dangerous to create a multiplayer server from the Minecraft Launcher because otherwise people hack your account or something but the question is can I also create a server from the Minecraft Launcher with mods or do I have to rent a server? Which is stupid

You are not being hacked

You can easily create a server on your computer, that's no problem. I have, never had any problems. Whether that goes through the launcher, no idea

However, you need access to the router settings if you want the server to be available outside of your network.

I guess you want your buddy to be able to gamble with you from home. Since you have to make a port release for is not really complicated.

Actually only have such small mods the only laggy ones are maybe ice and fire more almost not

I would first say that if you want to play with mods on a server you should rent one. Doesn't have to be a 40 Euro server, you can get one with 1GB Ram for 5 Euro a month from Nitrado. Otherwise there are free servers at Aternos, only of course they don't have a lot of power, so this becomes problematic with several mods. Such services can of course also be hacked, but this is unlikely with Aternos. If so then the major hosting services get the problems. If you want to play with mods alone, you can also get a Spigot server. There are many good Yt tutorials.

So probably a Fritzbox? Perfect, have one myself, it's very easy. Would first set up the server, then make the release. When you've done that, let me know.
