Me and my mate often play minecraft on a server but when we travel a lot or fly with an elytra nothing loads anymore and it is extremely lagging, is there somehow a mod or something with which you can change that?
If it is important my buddy hosts the server on a 2nd pc and not aternos etc.
On a PC and no server Well then why do you wonder?
Has nothing to do with it. If the PC is good enough it can run better than some rented servers.
No for what do you think servers are specially made so next time I shouldn't use a server but a gaming PC to e.g. To operate a website
Just screw the chunks down so far…
Otherwise your graphics card is simply overloaded if you have already taken out the minimum!
As a computer scientist, I think I know it well enough. What do you think servers are? Servers are nothing more than PCs. And mostly they are expensive and the hardware is not very good. If you have a PC that is better than some vendor's server, then it is better to use that one. Of course you would then have to have your PC permanently on in order to be able to reach the server around the clock. This is of course inconvenient to host a website, but if you only need the server when you are playing then it doesn't matter. Back then, as a child, I always hosted my servers myself, e.g. To play Minecraft etc, because it's free and the performance was significantly better compared to e.g. Nitrado.
In the latest versions of the "PaperSpigot" server software, there are many chunk loading settings as well as async chunk loading. That could help. In the bukkit.yml you can also set some things about the chunk buffer, etc.
I had also thought of async chunk loading, that should help.
