First of all: I asked a similar question a while ago, but have now gained new knowledge: my RAM is the problem. And it only clocks at 333 MHz. It is DDR2 RAM.
I've spent a lot of time researching the internet to find out what to do about lag due to slow RAM, but just haven't come across a solution.
Description of the problem: When I play Minecraft, I see something around 140 fps all the time, but as soon as a new chunk loads, the game is extremely jerky, which makes the whole thing completely unplayable.
Other games such as CS: GO or Portal 2 run COMPLETELY smoothly and on high graphics settings.
Specs:
Intel Pentium E5300
6GB DDR2 RAM 333MHz
Nvidia Quadro k2000d
Kingston SSD + Seagate HDD, play on the HDD
Maybe someone can help, thank you in advance!
I would guess not at all.
Minecraft has a relatively complex physics engine, in contrast to the comparison titles you mentioned, and your computer simply lacks CPU power.
There are reasons why the recommended CPUs are 4 years younger than yours.
CPU: Intel Core i3 3210 | AMD A8 7600 APU or equivalent.
First, thanks for the quick response. That seems plausible to me, but I have a small counter-argument: It runs without problems on my laptop and it has a 2.1 GHz dual-core processor from AMD… I don't quite understand that. The difference is that the laptop has DDR3 Ram (1600 MHz).
If it has DDR3, it is probably at least a generation newer. So I would take that as confirmation of my argument.
Well, the laptop is an Asus X52D from 2011 and was only upgraded with an SS. My tower is originally an office computer from Hyundai iTMC from 2015. However, it may well be that the processor is an older one, which would again speak for it. I think that will be the solution to the problem. I will probably have to upgrade soon. Anyway, thanks for the help.
The change to DDR3 took place in 2007. Just to put the age comparison of your two computers in relation.
Okay, I just discovered that the processor is from 2008. I think that's plausible. So I would see the problem solved.
