Minecraft Hexxit Fog?

I keep getting messages in the chat in Hexxit that a thick fog is spreading and that I will get damage as a result. What is the source of it and is there any way to stop it? The source of it is supposed to be found, but I have no idea what to look for

There's probably one or more Eldritch Guardian (s) nearby. After a while it disappears. You can also try to go into the water loudly https://www.reddit.com/...?context=3.
