Which Minecraft version is better?
I exclude Windows 10, pocket and Playstation schonmal, because together form the bedrock edition (Playstation not, but for other consoles).
With the old question of whether Java or bedrock it now depends on what you value: If you want to play with as many other players as possible and get updates as early as possible, then you should choose bedrock.
If you want to have the game as authentic as possible, with the most settings and original features, or if you want to have a finished game where you do not have to buy texturepacks etc. But can download, or for which generally more free features exist, then you should Take Java.
Pocket and Bedrock are one and the same, the only exception is the Pocket Edition on Windows phones.
To help anyone who does not know, I've listed all of my known "editions" here - some systems are listed here double, meaning that there are multiple versions per console / computer:
Bedrock Edition: Android / Amazon, iOS, Windows 10, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, VR.
Pocket Edition: Windows powered smartphones
PI Edition: Raspberry PI devices
Consoles Edition: Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS.
Java Edition - the original Minecraft:
Windows (eg 98, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10) Mac, VR? (Unfortunately I'm not too sure, I'm not omniscient 😅😔)
