Program Minecraft plugin 1.8 in the 1.15 m?

I want to start programming Minecraft plugins and looked for a tutorial on YouTube, but unfortunately the tutorial is for 1.8 and I want to program something for 1.15.

Is the programming behavior much different in 1.15 than in 1.8 and do I have to pay attention to what and if so what?
