Minecraft cat hops around all the time?

See if you have placed a carpet there. It sometimes happens that the mobs register a block in front of them and try to jump UP on it, although that's just a flat carpet. This is a bug that occurs again and again. Especially in Bedrock. But it is also fixed again and again.
