In advance a few dates so that you know directly what it is about
my system:
CPU i5 6600k overclocked to 4.7GHZ
RAM hyperX 16GB 2133mhz CL14
GPU zotac GTX 960 amp plus 20% overclocking
MBD gigabyte z170-hd3p
My minecraft specs:
Minecraft 1.12.2
forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2816
133 mods installed
no shader or texture packs
11GB RAM available
My problem
when i start minecraft and load my world nothing bad happens everything starts
I can inventory without problems, I can access boxes and open other GUIs. But as soon as I start moving the mouse, the game just goes out (crash)
there's no error / error code displayed, so I believe that more is wrong with my pc than with any programs
But if I set the mouse to the lowest dpi and look around my world very slowly without walking I can make quick movements with the mouse once I'm around and walk without anything happening
FPS remains stable, no peaks in performance and great
i did it so that i just stand around in the world for 5 minutes without any action. As soon as I looked around I was out.
previous observations:
cpu and gpu relatively cool and low wear
when slowly looking around, the RAM utilization goes up almost linearly to 12GB
The chipset gets incredibly hot (despite the 200mm fan on the side of the case)
when you look around slowly, the cpu load gets to the ceiling every time I move the mouse even a millimeter (until I'm around, then everything is stable)
this error also occurs in stock operation (without overclocking)
This error does not occur on my 2 pc, so I believe more that there's something in the hardware
I hope someone can help me because every time you enter a world for 5 minutes, moving the mouse only millimeters until you're 360 is a bit annoying
I'm happy to answer any further questions ;-)
How much ram is minecraft set to?
Minecraft has 11GB of ram available
You can only make half of your ram available to Minecraft, i.e. If you have 1GB then Minecraft can only have 5.5GB (rounded to 5GB).
My pc has 16gb ram. I had minecarft running on 8gb but nothing has changed.
OK, then unfortunately I don't know what to do.
Did you also set the 11 GB RAM in Forge?
So does the Forge loading screen display the 11 GB?
Maybe a certain graphic mod doesn't work. Just try to take out the graphic mods. I had a similar problem
Yes forge has exactly 11187 MB RAM available
I stopped that with jvm arguments
I only have optifine in it and on my other pc (less performance) this error does not occur (same forge, same version, same world)
What is the maximum amount of RAM on your PC?
16 gb, I've already tried more and less ram for minecarft… Same result
Okay, how long have you had the problem? Have you changed anything recently?
Added a new mod, or did you install all mods at once
The mods came little by little, but actually I haven't changed much either.
just like minecarft is now and my pc, i had previously played another world without any problems.
not even my self-programmed mods caused problems.
Have you ever tested whether the problem only occurs in one world or generally in every world?
I just said it with a freshly created world, there were no problems
Then I tried it again in a 7 year old world with 5GB size and with many complex mod machines (I haven't played this world for a long time because it needs so much power). But strangely, there were no problems (except for only 25 FPS) and they ran without problems.
So I guess it is more about the world you are trying to use than minecraft or the mods. Maybe some objects in the world are not compatible with current mods?
Then what should I do to take out some mods?
I guess there are some blocks in the world that are only available with mods. So fall, enter the world in Vanilla. But you could copy the world once, not that something is lost. That would be inconvenient.
The only thing that could help is that you really take out mod for mod one by one and try again after each deleted mod until it no longer crashes. So some blocks may go flute, but what does an unplayable world bring? Nothing.
Okay thanks i will give it a try I can play the world as such but at the beginning I only have to look around slowly
Try mods that improve Minecraft's performance, such as "Better FPS" (Not only improves FPS)
Otherwise my advice would be Optifine. Since you already have Optifine, I would set Shaders to Off there.
But I suspect, like you, that it is due to your hardware on the PC. "When you look around slowly, the RAM utilization goes up almost linearly to 12gbd the chipset gets incredibly hot (despite the 200mm fan on the side of the case)" My suggestion here: Check whether the fans get enough power, do not place the case with the fan openings on the wall. Dedusting the housing could also help, as the dust reduces performance and works like thermal insulation.
My pc is absolutely dust-free (clean all my 5 pcs every 3 months) my 200 mm fan also turns without any problems 2000rpm (it has power via a sata power connector) at optifine are shaders on off i have now also tried it on the lowest graphics settings… Without success
my pc is open on both sides and is in the basement at about 16 degrees (it is also not too damp down here)
I have now removed the cooler from the chipset and put a matching old gpu cooler with a fan on it. It is not that warm anymore.
How should it work?
