Video Games] Minecraft 1.8 - find wolves?

I have been roaming the "Cold Taiga M" biome for ages looking for wolves. The Minecraft version is Minecraft 1.8 and I have set the difficulty level to "Hard". But I've been looking in vain for wolves for so long that something can't be right. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

The Biome Cold Taiga M didn't even exist in 1.8? A cold spruce biome is enough.

So as far as I know, wolves only appear in the normal taiga. But that could also be because I'm a Bedrock player

In the 1.8.0? O.O When was the biome update? 1.7?

To be honest, I don't even know. Cold Taiga M is there when I go to F3.
