I would like to introduce crates on my server at some point. So basically boxes that you have to click with a key and then you get a certain item from a rotary wheel. Then there are rivets and good things, but you ALWAYS get something. Chances are adjustable by me (owner).
Now my question: Can you then sell these "keys" on a website in Germany? E.g. 1 key = 3 euro or 5 = 10 euro?
Does that count as gambling and is it illegal here? What exactly is the situation like?
The opportunities can also be made visible to everyone. According to Minecraft EULA, it is at least not strictly forbidden. It depends on what you fill them with.
Your project has very little to do with gambling, as it is not open to the public and can't be played on the website.
The situation is different with sales. Here you offer a game advantage for real money and the sale takes place via the website / shop. This looks quickly like commercial service and requires a business license, at least age 18, payment interfaces, data protection, imprint, etc.
That being said, nobody will buy a crate for real money, it looks like a rip off. What should children pay with except Paysafe and for that you have to be independent and meet the above requirements.
Stay on the carpet and play rather than deal with something you're too young for.
There are 2682726263726367 casinos that have not been banned, so I think they are all legal and you can do the same. Minecraft EULA allows it, I thought.
