I wanted to quickly ask how much RAM you would need if you only wanted to run a small, private Minecraft server for 5-10 people (for a small, short project).
A total of 4 GB would be enough…
3gb. RAM is overestimated. Internet speed as well as CPU clock speed are also important. Are you taking a provider or are you hosting privately?
It depends. If you only want to play Flatworld on 100x100 for a short time, then 2GB of RAM is enough if nothing else is running on the server, provided it is a device (Raspberry or something) only for the MC server.
If you play a normal seed and spread out, then the device should have a little more juice.
If you play on the PC where the server is running, then at least 16, otherwise it is down.
Provider ^^
Nene, I host at a provider ^^
Depending on which version and how many plugins you want to install.
I'm assuming 0 plugins and an average of 4 players. (Version: 1.16.1)
4GB should be enough (5GB wouldn't be bad either)
Gameserver (Minecraft) or an entire computer (root or virtual pc: vserver). With the game server you can't really go wrong, only ram counts, 2-3GB should be enough. Without plugins.
Depending on the application.
Normal Vanilla or with plugins: 1-2GB
With Bukkit, you can calculate 100MB per person
(Paper) Spigot is more efficient and then only needs 40-50MB per player
Mods make it more difficult. You have to look very carefully at which ones consume a lot, etc.

I also have space on my server. If you are interested.
