14-year-olds belong to a protected group of people (please have a look at the regulations of the JArbSchG, you will find what you are looking for). You are allowed to work - subject of course to the consent of your parents! - but only carry out very light activities that do not require too much time for the minor, since they are still required to attend school. The legislature is therefore very keen that minors can concentrate on school and not rush to work straight away. I think I remember that a maximum of 2 hours of work per day must not be exceeded. Of course, these 2 hours must not overlap with the lesson time.
