How much computing power do I need for a Teamspeak and Minecraft Server?

I have to get a root server in front of me to install a Teamspeak and Minecraft Server. My question is now whether:

2 cores, 5 GB RAM and 10 GB hard disk space. Are better

or

1 core, 6 GB RAM and 10 GB hard disk space

It depends on whether you want to play Vanilla or Mods, but for a Teamspeak + Minecraftserver it gets very tight.

Ja

I would go with the upper configuration. But otherwise depends on what you want to do

Apparently it seems to be vServer here. The problem here is that a virtual core is ever slower than a physical core (and there are also differences in clock frequency, arithmetic operations per clock and clocks required for different arithmetic operations) and since Minecraft as far as I know is still not several cores unterzützt, this is not so well suited - but of course it also depends on how many users are on at the same time and what they do (Redstone, TNT, lava / water flow, mobs and surrounding items need extra power (at least as long as the chunk is loaded) Some mods also require additional computing power.

Teamspeak does not need much power and also handles the bandwidth quite sparingly. Nevertheless, there may be a problem here too many online at the same time, because the connection of the v-server often have to share all vserver on the physical server - also, of course, too many users can overload the server even at some point in the computing power. For chatting with a few pals but it would be ok.

In the direct comparison of the two deals, 2 cores instead of 1 core will be better than 1 additional GB Ram - even if MC only runs on one core, then at least the rest (operating system, possibly TS) can run on another one.

In itself, I consider a vServer for MC rather unsuitable - except for a few people.
