I hosted my V-Server Windows at Webtropia and now I want to know how I can connect my Minecraft server running there to a domain. A .de domain was included free of charge, but I would now like to know how I connect it to the Minecraft server. (I know a bit double xD)
An SRV entry is required for this. I don't know the Webtropia interface, so I can't tell you exactly how it's done there… However, certain sub-elements should always be available:
IP = IP address
PORT = 5-digit number code
SERVICE = _minecraft
PROTOCOL = TCP
PRIORITY = 10
WEIGHT = 5
With that, you should be able to set everything up. I redirected the name servers to the Cloudflare nameserver because I think Cloudflare is very good. However, it is a small effort, where you have to know whether it is worth it. But there are many good tutorials on YouTube.

Do that! Just again as an important addition: Even if you have created the DNS entry, it can still take a while before it works worldwide. Even within Germany it can be easy in one region and only a few hours later in another. You have to be patient with something like that. It can take up to 48 hours before the entry is available worldwide. With Cloudlfare it only takes a few seconds before I can access my server there. I don't know what it's like directly at Webtropia. That depends on the name servers.
