Squids spawn in the forest / plains biome?

According to minecraft wiki, squids can only spawn in river or ocean biomes. So I ask why is this not the case? Server / 1.16.5

Is that a river or a lake / pond?

Because if there's a river, it could be that somehow they swam over it. With a lake / pond ect. I'm not sure whether they can also spawn in the water, even if it is a forest biom. But if minecraft Wiki says something else then I don't know
