Laptop hangs and lags on Minecraft?

My sister has a laptop (no gaming) and whenever she plays minecraft it hangs with her and it is hardly playable. If it plays on a self-created server, it runs smoothly. My sister has the following components:

Intel (R) UHD Graphics 620

Intel Core i3 8th gen

As I said, no gaming PC.

This laptop is not designed for far too bad hardware.

Your PC is definitely old but try turning down either Optifine and render distance, if that's not enough make the graphics worse (shadows, light, etc.)

You can't compare empty servers / worlds with full multiplayer lobbies.

Graphics settings down, install optfine. And it is very important to choose the right settings.

If that doesn't work you can try the fabric mod "sodium". Few people know, but it brings a lot on some PCs.

This rotten laptop from Lidl has to be replaced by something reasonable modern, then it works with Minecraft too.

I could imagine that the hardware is just a bit too bad too bad.
