Minecraft Nitrado Server is lagging despite 9GB RAM?

There are only 6 of us online and we haven't built any farms yet. We're all a bit apart from each other, but with an old server of ours it ran more smoothly with 6GB of RAM. Why is the server lagging like this anyway?

Because RAM has relatively little to do with performance, the processor is much more important here.

Vanilla Minecraft? That would be a bit very unusual. But Nitrado is known to provide very little CPU power to the servers, which actually makes the prices even more ridiculous.

So much RAM is completely superfluous, unless you are using a modpack with> 200 mods.

2GB Ram is enough for you, you just need a smart hoster. You are definitely paying too much…
