I have installed 2x DDR4-3200MHz 8GB RAM in my PC. Also runs on 3200MHz. When I start Minecraft in 1.8.9, everything is fine, utilization at approx. 2-3GB, FPS in the range of 300-800. When I start Minecraft 1.16.3, the load is already 9GB in the menu. It never gets higher in the entire game, always remains at almost exactly 9GB. As a result, I sometimes "only" have 100 FPS in-game. I know that sounds like a lot, but I have a 180Hz screen and especially with Minecraft I would have liked to have used it to the full. GPU and CPU are both only at 20-30% utilization.
Just buy another 8GB and then it fits. If I play with shaders and RP, I get over 16GB
Have you allocated more RAM to miencraft? And it is normal that the newer versions require more power
But already 9GB in the menu? I can set all graphics to the lowest possible, Rende Distance to 2 and even then it's still 9GB. And I allocated 12GB, which means it could pull even more. But don't do it.
Yes. With shader and RP. But I play the normal version, and the 9 GB is already in the menu without me playing at all.
The normal one also uses so much for me, maybe a little less so 6-8
