Why do I have a black screen?

I have a question about minecraft. I just downloaded Minecraft. Whenever I start it I get a black screen. There's also nothing to register or something. I can't see anything. Why is that? What can I do?

That's in Minecraft. Try reinstalling Java. Or uninstall the old versions and update Java. Then you restart minecraft and it should work.

The thing is I uninstalled it and installed it but it didn't work.

Then reinstall Minecraft / the launcher and restart the PC.
