I put together a PC system about a year ago. I would like to switch from my very bad monitor to an Aorus CV27Q. This offers Wqhd, 144hz and has 27 inches.
My PC system: xfx radeon rx580 8GB, Ryzen 5 2600x, 16GB crucial (?) RAM, 140gb Kingston SSD, 1TB HDD (knows the brand ned).
I mainly play Minecraft, Need for Speed and very rarely Fortnite with a few friends. Set the settings to pretty low in Need for Speed and Fortnite. Can I use the potential of the monitor at all and if not, do you have any alternatives?
Yes, you can normally use the potential of the monitor as long as your PC does not produce any stutters and your graphics card can handle 144hz
Your CPU currently manages 120 FPS in most games, but your graphics card is far too slow, in WQHD in Ultra Settings maybe 25 FPS. 😉 (based on current AAA games)
I therefore recommend at least one RX 5700 XT or one RTX 2070 Super. These are each twice as fast as the RX 580, and if you set your settings to medium / high, you will also achieve a decent 120 FPS in WQHD with the new graphics card. 😊
For WQHD with 144 FPS in Ultra, you would have to use an RTX 2080 Ti and the Ryzen 3600 as CPU.
