I play minecraft for hours every day, everything runs perfectly. I'm just digging at level 12 because there are supposed to be some surpluses there. I also find very often iron gold and most redstone. Diamond and lapi are also rare. But what I don't find is emerald ore. There's also a certain height where you have to search. Because emeralds would be really good to trade and I won't go half the globe for the ore
Emerald ore is only found in the extreme hills biom

You have to go into the biom with the extremely high mountains, looks a bit abstract, but google this biom and find it in MC.
You can find emerald only extremely rarely and if, then only 1-2 blocks. However, it is correctly present in the 'Extreme Mountains' biome.
So dig there, or trade with the villagers; they often only want unimportant stuff and exchange emerald for it.
Emeralds are very rare to find in caves; you should try e.g. To build a large sugar cane farm. Then you make paper out of the sugar cane, which you then exchange for emeralds with the drof residents.
