I downloaded the Optifine file and tried to open it, but nothing happened, I also have the latest Java version.
Where did you download it from? On the official site?
Yes I downloaded it from the official site so I downloaded the preview version of 1.15.2 there and now it is a .jar file that I can't open.
And nothing happens when you double-click?

Tried to download again? And the appropriate Mc version has already been installed and started?
I have tried it several times and it shows when I want to open it that I should look for another app that can open it.
i had the same issue. Look the through the java files and make sure all of them are installed properly. Then try and open optifine again and java should show up when it asks you who wants to run it, click java and it should work… (anytime you have a .JAR file it needs to be ran by java)
