Play Minecraft together on PC and mobile?

Hi, I wanted to play Minecraft with my friends tomorrow, just the two of them use it on the PC and I use my mobile phone, would that still work?

No, that is not possible because you have the Java version on your PC and the Poketedition is on your mobile phone.

Your friends would have to buy the Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft in the Microsoft Store.

With the Java Edition you can't play together with users of the Pocket Edition.

The Windows 10 Edition is also available for the PC. It works with that.

If you want to play Minecraft together with someone else in the same network, start Minecraft as usual. Create a new world or load a game save. Now press Escape and then twice on "Open to Lan". The game now gets a port that is displayed in the chat window.

I used to use it every now and then to play with friends who have Minecraft for console only. Outside of playing with friends, I don't see any real use in the Windows 10 Edition, unless you're a big fan of the Bedrock Edition and really want to play it on the PC.
