Drowned sometimes neutral?

I played Minecraft on the Switch (hard difficulty) and I noticed that drowned people sometimes only attack me when I attack them. Why?

Because they are actually nice but when you attack them they defend themselves.

But drowned people are aggressive

I think they're only like this during the day

No even at night
