And I have the following problem, currently I have an fx 8350 (4.4ghz), 16gb ram (1866mhz) and a 1050 ti oc.
If I now play Minecraft with shaders, for example, and the chunks above 15, my fps drop dramatically, if I now open gpu z, the gpu load is around 50% and the cpu in the task manager is 100%.
I noticed something similar in other games, e.g. At Overwatch about 60fps with drops and Fortnite 45fps.
Since the CPU utilization was between 30% u. 80% but the graphics card still had not arrived at 100% but so about 95%
(I tested all games at the highest settings and without limiting the fps to achieve maximum utilization of the gpu.)
Can I hope for an increase in performance of the gpu if I upgrade the cpu to a ryzen5 3600, the mainboard to a b450m and 16gb ram with 3200mhz
If necessary, I would swap the graphics card for a better one next year.
What do you think is worth upgrading to a new cpu and keeping the gpu for now?
Why shouldn't the performance increase when dj replaces a slow old cpu with a newer, more powerful one, since the cpu is the bottleneck is also worth it.
Now is not a correct answer but I once owned a 1050ti and… It is not comparable to a 1080 or so. Minecraft with shaders is quite complex and even with an ey 5700 (GB) I don't have 60 FPS with one or the other shader.
The GPU performance will remain, but CPU performance will increase enormously, should you upgrade the GPU anyway, because this will definitely run at the limit
I actually thought I could tickle the last percent and fps out of the gpu with the new cpu until I can still afford a new gpu. Since the gpu apparently is not yet at the limit.
Thanks for the quick reply
Yes, you are right (the first thing I understood was just upgrading the GPU, so of course I thought what a fool that is, then the CPU is all the time in the limit): D
You are right too
Thanks for your helpful answer.
With the fps drops, the gpu utilization has always decreased
I will be able to gamble again without fps drops soon.
Not everything, but better, as I said, the GPU will then also be at the limit, especially with newer titles
You can of course upgrade the CPU, motherboard and ram first, so you should make a jump (even if it is not 50 or 100FPS) but the power consumption alone is worth it (previously had an FX8350, for about 4 years and I have now switched to a Ryzen 3700) and then in the next step you should replace your graphics card, which will bring you the most in the games mentioned above, for example on an RTX 2060 or higher or if you are not dependent on NVidia (Ansel, Graphics programs or similar), then you can also buy an AMD graphics card, they are not bad in terms of price / performance ratio, but sometimes need a little more power than comparable NVidia cards
A new processor is definitely the order of the day for your system. With the Ryzen 5 3600 you have a model that will remain true to you for the next few years. However, it is slowed down by the graphics card. Therefore, the upgrade of the graphics card should also be done soon.
