Moin and which graphics card is better? A 6900xt or a 3080.
I want to use the graphics card for games like F1 2020, GTA5, Warzone, CSGO, Rainbow 6, IL-46, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Dcs-World, Minecraft on 1080p & I will most likely not use ray tracing in most games, but at the highest Play settings.
What would you recommend?
The 6900xt / 3080 would run on a Ryzen 9 5950x with 16 or 32GB RAM at 3600mhz.
The 6900xt has an average of 20-30 fps more than the 3080. The 3080 has DLSS but that doesn't necessarily make it any better.
Hard decision.
The RX6900XT is quite a bread. The RTX3080 but no less.
Probably would use the RX6900XT, but I don't wonder why.
The first question would be: in which resolution do you (want) to play?
The RTX3000s only slowly get going at 1440p and then really turn up in 2160p
The RX6900XT is very good for 2160p, at 1440p probably faster than anything below and for 1080p completely thrown money
For 1080p, both are completely overkill. Overall, the RX 6900XT is a lot faster, but the higher the resolution, the smaller the distance
The biggest advantage of the 6900XT is that you can get it in the AMD Shop at an RRP (999 euro), while for the 3080 you easily have to pay 1700 euro +
Yes, but I will play e.g. Warzone, Rainbow or GTA5 on 240 Hz and above and on the best settings & unfortunately the 6900xt has been sold out in the AMD shop for months.
So on Thursday the 6900XT was available in the AMD shop. Like pretty much every Thursday
For 1000 euro? And about when, or is she inside all day?
It drops between 5 and 10 p.m., but then you have to be pretty quick when the time comes

Ah okay and what cards are they selling? Sapphire, Gigabyte Msi? Or just the originals from AMD? And if there are only the originals, what is the cooling performance of those?
Only the reference design is sold
The reference cooler is really good for the first time at AMD
So the reference design is worth it and I shouldn't wait until the Gigabyte, Sapphire, MSI etc. Cards are available again?
Yes the reference design is good
It can easily take another year until the good custom designs are available at an acceptable price
Okay thanks
